STANDING STONES & STONE CIRCLES
The picture shows a standing stone at Ty'r Coed Farm, Oldwalls, Gower. The scale rod is 1m high. Although this stone is now next to buildings, when it was first put up it would have been in open countryside.

The stone circle shown here is the one at Mynydd Carnllechart. The picture is taken from one side of the circle looking across to the other. Within the circle a cist, a rectangular hole in the ground lined with stone slabs. This may have contained a burial although stone circles were probably not originally designed for this purpose.
