  • Decorated tableware, known as 'samian' to archaeologists, was imported from Gaul and the Rhineland
  • Most decorated samian was made by throwing the pot inside a mould which had been prepared by impressing it with stamps. Experts can distinguish the potters by the pictorial stamps they used as well as by their names.
  • Sherds of locally produced grey cook ware.
  • Whetstone for sharpening knives and other edged tools.
  • Sherds of Roman pottery from the site.
  • A small stone altar. The name of the god or goddess to whom it was dedicated would probably have been painted on, along with details of the person who set it up.
